4-6-3 DOUBLE PLAY BASEBALL CLUB

Club baseball, aligned with Moment Athletics priorities.

Mission:

Double Play Baseball is a competitive youth baseball program that fosters the love of the game, and emphasizes family and community first.  This program is designed and run by professional educators and trained, experienced coaches.  Our goal is to provide an additional opportunity for kids age 10-12 to participate in baseball in our own community and beyond. The Structure of our program is intentional. We aim to teach the skills and strategy of the game of baseball, while instilling strong values in kids: hard work, commitment, empathy, and teamwork. The success of the program is not only based on wins and losses, but on the integrity and character of the players and coaches.

What makes us Double Play Baseball:

  • Competitive tryout for ANY interested player.

  • Objective criteria will be used to determine team placement.

  • We are focus on the present season only! Success is measured by individual skills and team development over the duration of the season.

  • We believe kids should be multi-sport athletes.  Early sport specialization leads to burn out and overuse injury.  We ask that players focus on their seasonal sport during that given time of year; this gives players an opportunity to stay focused on the identity of one sport/team at a time.

  • Parents should focus on three things: Player attitude, focus, and effort.  Baseball IS a game of failure; providing opportunities to overcome each one.  We must love them and support their ability to have a positive attitude, focus during practice and games, and acknowledge their effort.

  • We value and protect family time, while encouraging more free play outside of our club to foster healthy childhood development and experiences.

Double Play Baseball & Little League

Our program aims to build its schedule to complement our local Little League, with an expectation that Double Play players participate.  Encouraging players to participate in our local Little League fosters a healthy baseball community and provides positive experiences to play with multi-level players.

Teams

We will have two teams this year, 11U & 12U.  Each team will have 11 roster spots and teams will be selected based on objective criteria.  With limited spots, we ask that you accept our program goals and philosophy before making the commitment to have your child try out.

*To be eligible for 12U, a player may not turn 13 prior to May 1st, 2022.

*To be eligible for 11U, a player may not turn 12 prior to May 1st, 2022
